scored 90% on the practice asvab, today. can’t figure out what i missed (and whatever it was, it wasn’t on the vocabulary or paragraph comprehension sections, which were pathetically easy and make me wistful that people paid more attention to language if this is the baseline), other than one question i gave up on and had to guess:

Given the following sequence of numbers, what is the next number?

1, 10, 7, 16

other than that, apparently i am qualified to request whatever assignment my avaricious, ambitious little heart desires.

of course, i am not all that creative so i would probably request to be a sysadmin.

standard disclaimer: DO NOT WIG OUT ON ME OVER THIS. i am all grown up, and furthermore, i am also smart and capable of understanding that my actions have repercussions, some of which might involve unfriendly fire. so yelling at me that the military is stupid, or it is stupid of me to think about enlisting, makes me cranky.

apparently, in august basic is increasing in duration from nine to thirteen weeks. as it will be ages before i can take a leave of absence to enlist, if indeed i choose to do so, this fact mostly just taunts me. alas.

i am at a loss to explain why this is supposed to sell me on any of the clothing featured. (“featured” meaning “incidentally happened to share the frame.”) it seems to me that it’s more intended to sell me on the ideas of putting men in dresses and taking the tops off of women, which are, frankly, ideas i’m already sold on, guys.

am ready to go back to work, now, out of sheer boredom and feeling left out if not out of ability.

bored, bored, bored.

the trouble with thinking about auto restoration (specifically, restoration of The Car) is, you see, that it makes me want more cars, every time i stumble across another example of a fine restored machine.

for the longest, longest time i wanted a 1964 mustang convertible in candy apple red. now, this one happens to be a ’66, but … whimper! niqui want pretty baby!

i love my passat, i do, i really really do, but … look at that pretty red mustang!

whimper.

plus, it’s not even all that expensive. $14k! man, i totally should have investigated buying a vintage car before i bought my passat. i just thought that they would be more expensive, y’know? and, yeah, sure, they certainly require more care and upkeep… but… pretty! and with the vroom! much with the vroom!

of course, that stock 8-track would have to go… i’m not that much of a purist.

NIQUI WANTS THE CAR NOW OKPLSTHX.
