i'm happy, hope you're happy too

viki sends this:

NYC RNC protestor holding '</bush>' sign aloft

i’d like to congratulate that person for her originality, but then smack her for being an idiot. isn’t the whole point of holding up signs at a political protest being that so more people will get your message? sadly, i think it’s fair to state that not every literate american speaks fluent HTML.

a very girly moment

* niqui just had a very girly moment, and wants to share with everyone.

so i was plugging tank in on the front net, and i had to fetch a patch cable from the magical land of patch cables. i picked one out that looked reasonable, and it was absolutely coated in machine oil. it was grotesque.
i carried it out of there balanced on one finger to avoid touching it, mentally chanting ‘ew, ew, ew.’
ew ew ew
are you sure it wasn’t pig lube?
EW EW EW
. . . thank you wasy for that appealing image!
it was a patch cable! it doesn’t require lubrication! why was it coated in machine oil!
patch cables can be used for a lot besides just patching.
the operators …. no, i’ll stop there.
yes please do.
yes, twhat twork said.
stop. now.
ahhh.
but the imagination was just getting started.

there was more, involving some very scary imagery about people i have to work with, but i’ll spare you.

i’ll just sit over here in the corner, twitching.
