  • Is "This course discredits the entire science curriculum through its laziness and complete lack of academic integrity" too strong? #
  • Tuesday night class make niqui want to SMASH. Only 4 more weeks. Surely I can get through this. Only 4 more weeks! #
  • Oh, that reference was supposed to be "Kneel before Zod," wasn't it? Oh well, no matter… kneel, bow, do a little dance, whatever you like. #
  • If the Brainbench test site is to be believed, I am a "master" of unix administration. BOW BEFORE ZOD^WSABRINA! #
  • I think I need a pattern to knit up small amounts (~130 yds) of textured laceweight into, to use up these yarns I've spun this weekend. #
  • Just throwing this out there: I don't get this ukelele trend. It's just not that unique a sound that I want to hear Radiohead covers in it. #

  • Totally bewildered by an AskMe commenter who says she loved the Twilight saga (before fans ruined it, natch). You admitted that in public? #
  • Watching Coupling. The one with Jane's shrink vegetarian girlfriend at the dinner party making fun of Steve's porn. <3 #
  • Every Doctor Who villain: http://is.gd/dyGXO Fun to read the list, reminds me of classic adventures. #
  • One nice thing about tiny batts: takes like an hour to get through it. One bad thing: you get like five feet of yarn when done. #
  • Just spun my tiny alpaca/mohair batt from Saturday into a singles. Think I'm going to ply it with a blue thread now. #
  • And the Windy City Knitting Guild is helpful as ever. *rolls eyes* #
  • DIE IN A FIRE, BLACKBOARD, JUST DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE. WORST INTERFACE EVER. EVER HEAR OF AUTOSAVE? NOT ROCKET NUCLEAR BRAIN SURGERY. #
  • Just finished the yarn I started plying last night. It turned out not too shabby. http://is.gd/dy7wt #

  • Spun up the instructor's example tri-color batt tonight into a fine singles and plying it with beehives. Who wants some orange art yarn? #
  • Ok, so, having photographed fiber and bloggily-recapped the fiber fest, I wonder what to do today. OH HAI, 4PM. Where did my day go?!? #

So this weekend was the 2010 Midwest Fiber & Folk Art Fair. This is only about the 4th year, and it’s been a little uneven, as well as moved venues pretty much every year. You know. These are the far suburbs. The ones that are basically farms and only get to be called “suburbs” because Metra has stops there. I mean, this was driving farther out there than, like, The Fold, which says something about my level of commitment that I was willing to drive 45 miles out there not once, but twice. Once on a Friday. In traffic. Be suitably awed by that — I certainly am.
