so last friday was the workplace summer picnic. i played volleyball badly, i got sunburned, and i programmed the music. it was fun.
i actually had a good amount of fun putting together the playlist. as i described the process, i tried to cover as many genre bases as possible to entertain the many varied individuals at the picnic, while not involving too much ‘motherfucker’ to traumatize the kiddies. and trust me, the (non-total) ‘motherfucker’ moratorium eliminated several songs i would have liked to have included because they rock out. we made it all the way through “Mother’s Little Helper,” which disappointed me because that meant the party ended before my cleverly-picked “go away now” songs got played. ah well. the playlist…
