So I finally got into the diagnostic mode and shut off that damn alarm, and verified that the disks were, indeed, broken.

Now? Now Mirapoint Support is telnetting in, to figure out what the problem is. I'll just sit at home and knit while the men^Wsupport folk figure out what the problem was and whether or not it can be fixed.

They'd tell me how, but "this is the appliance model," and "this is all low-level stuff." And my suggestion that we would not be letting people randomly telnet in to our stuff on production machines was met with the polite disbelief of "of course you will."

Don't mind that network cable stretched over the aisle from head to the mirapoint cabinet and down, I didn't have one long enough to run it properly. It's tied up, shouldn't be in the way. But if it is, relax -- you probably shouldn't be touching that, anyways.
