random bowling trip today, after i drove past waveland bowl and decided that what i really wanted to do with the afternoon was blow off my errands and go bowling instead. turns out i can still hurl a ball with stunning, mind-warping, deadly accuracy. or at least enough accuracy to squeak out 124 and a couple of strikes with a bum wrist.

didn’t break 100 when bowling left-handedly, but didn’t make an almighty too humiliating ass of myself, either. i think that at 86, my left-handed bowling shamed the sorority girl one lane over. who, really, ought to have known better than to just plonk the damn ball down on the lane like that. seriously, the eight year olds on our other side were bowling more skillfully than that.

bowling bracketed by pool (i won two games by forfeit, and scratched on a rebound after sinking the eight ball the one damn game i won by my own skills — reminder to self: r. is a pool shark!), followed by my first time ever playing DDR, at which i suck but i have to admit it was kind of addictingly fun, until the machine decided we could only play single player instead of both at once, which was annoying. still, further reminder to self, must look into seeing if i can pick up someone’s used DDR gear to play with at home. stupid addictive arrows. stupid Geri Halliwell cover of ‘It’s Raining Men.’

now, off to do the stuff i should have done this afternoon, in prep for flying out for a day trip at duke to learn about the unspeakably fabulous world of oracle calendaring. YOU CAN’T STOP THE FUN!
